Dinner was enjoyable. Linda’s parents stayed and talked about an hour after dinner then left. Steve took a shower and went straight to bed. Linda came in and kissed him on the cheek. He opened his eyes and smiled as he held his arms out to hug her. She embraced him releasing a heavy sigh.

“Dinner was good tonight.”

“Thanks. I thought it turned out pretty good too. I have to try extra hard when I’m cooking for someone like my mom. She can make anything taste good.”

“Yes she can,” he admitted. “I enjoy your parents, they’re good people.”

She rubbed his chest. “Are you going to take dad up on that seminar?” Steve appeared to be considering it, but didn’t answer. “You know he’s not going to leave you alone until you go. It won’t hurt you to go and see what they’re talking about.”

“I guess you’re right,” he said. She kissed his lips.

“Who knows, you might enjoy it.”

Steve raised his brows. “Yeah. Imagine that,” he said.
